About you
Alison is an experienced neuro physiotherapist with over 30 years working in neurological rehabilitation. She is an Advanced Bobath trained therapist and uses combined treatment approaches, incorporating Myofascial Release, neurological research and evidence based therapies & exercise. In the last 10 years she has focused her caseload solely on Parkinson’s and Atypical Parkinson’s management. Parkinson’s credentials are as noted below.

Alison is passionate about Parkinson’s and has volunteered extensively: Presenting to Parkinson’s Support groups, Presenter at Parkinson Canada’s (Eastern branch) Annual Symposium, Telehealth Ontario; consultant and mentor to Boxing4Health for many years, to coach and educate the trainers and boxers. The class setting being an ideal environment for support and camaraderie for people with Parkinson’s. Consultation involves ensuring that exercises follow the principles of Parkinson’s research with respect to amplitude and intensity, pioneered by Dr. Becky Farley. Alison has volunteered her time with the PWR! Retreat in Arizona and the inaugural Spinning Wheels retreat in Ontario, for people with Parkinson’s and their care partners. As well as bringing PWR! to Ottawa for the PWR! MOVES instructor course.
