About
About you
Carol has been a therapist for over 20 years, spending the last 12 years focusing on home care. She is a Certified-Aging-In-Place consultant and loves all things fall prevention and figuring out how people can age in place safely and at their highest level of function. Carol is a former elite athlete and is passionate about exercise and food as medicine. She believes the best gift you can give yourself is establishing healthy habits and routines as early as possible to be able to have the best quality of life in the golden years. Carol was introduced to PWR! after her father-in-law was diagnosed with Parkinson disease and is convinced that the PWR!Moves are the key to living your best life with Parkinsons.
Carol loves watching how the PWR!Moves builds confidence in Parkinson patients to get out and live their best lives. When patients see progress with better posture, confident mobility and improved voice quality, patients realize they DO have control over this disease and are no longer just waiting for it to take over. As an Occupational Therapist, Carol is interested in how we can perform functional tasks in the safest way possible and problem solving out creative ways to make that happen. What inspires her is watching patients go from being too afraid of falling to help out with household chores to feeling strong and in control of their bodies again. Carol believes Occupational therapy is all about the need for a patient to feel productive and when patients realize that they are able to contribute to the household chores again, it brings them immense pride and satisfaction. She is very passionate about the effectiveness of the PWR!Moves that she currently teaches to all o f her patients, allowing them to build core strength and flexibility to decrease the risk of falls in order to keep them at home for as long as possible.
