Susan Smith, PT

Susan Smith has been a neurological physiotherapist for over 20 years. She is a clinician and past owner / clinic director of a private neuro-rehabilitation clinic in Ottawa. Susan has focussed her career on the assessment and treatment of neurological disorders. Over the past 12 years her caseload and continued education direction have primarily focussed on Parkinson’s Disease (PD). Susan is passionate about working with people with PD and helping / empowering them to manage their disease, improve their functional abilities and quality of life so that they can live well with PD. Susan is an advanced level Bobath therapist, expert level John Barnes Myofascial Release therapist, a certified LSVT BIG clinician (research-based exercise protocol program for PD), a certified PWR! clinician (Parkinson Wellness Recovery Approach) and PWR!Moves instructor and a Rock Steady certified coach, (using boxing techniques as an intense exercise to impact PD). She is also certified in Activator and Nordic pole walking. Susan has enjoyed being a PWR!Retreat volunteer and has also volunteered at at Parkinsons retreat in Ontario, Canada.
