About
About you
My name is Laura Hupe and I've been a PT for over twenty years. I worked primarily in pediatrics and have experience in orthopedics and women's health. After becoming certified in pilates rehabilitation, I started a small, niche PT practice. I started to see a wide range of clients including an aging population who wanted to become stronger, improve their overall function and live a more productive, full life. I became more focused and interested in the geriatric population. I would incorporate balance work, falls prevention, coordination, postural education and body mechanics into my treatment sessions. I began taking more continuing education courses and working with clients with Parkinson's disease. I quickly realized how much they benefited from prescriptive, focused exercises. I strive to get clients back to doing what they enjoy and break down/simplify movements that carry over to their day to day activities. When my aunt was diagnosed with PD, I wished I could have helped more, but unfortunately, she didn't live locally. Later, when my father-in-law was diagnosed with PD, he became one of my first clients. I still work with him weekly. I hope to empower PWP to move, to move safely, and to move toward living a more full life (physically, emotionally and socially).
