About you
Since May of 2021 I have been working as an Exercise Physiologist/Personal trainer at the Health and Fitness Center at Touchmark retirement community in Prescott, Arizona. Since I was originally certified as PWR!Moves instructor in 2015, and re-certified in February 2022, I continue to dedicate a lot of my time to people living with Parkinson"s. I instruct a group exercise class called Parkinson"s Wellness Recovery for Touchmark residents living with Parkinson"s, that is also available for Prescott"s Quad Cities community members living with Parkinson"s. I also work with a number of clients individually in personal training sessions, geared specifically to those living with Parkinson"s.
Before moving to Prescott in 2020, I have worked for seven years as an Exercise Physiologist and Personal Trainer in the Fitness Center of Shirley Ryan Ability lab, also known as The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. While at The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, I led group exercise classes for people with Parkinson"s and worked with individual clients as a personal trainer. I also participated in various research studies for people with Parkinson"s that were sponsored by the hospital. Since receiving my certification in PWR!Moves instructor in 2015, I had used these moves extensively in my group exercise classes and personal training. Over those seven years at the Shirley Ryan Ability lab, I had worked with over twenty clients with PD in both group class format and one-on-one. I had also participated in the annual Chicago Walk for Parkinson"s event organized by the Michael J. Fox Foundation. I was one of two exercise Physiologists from Shirley Ryan Ability lab that led a warm-up for the participants. In addition to that, I had held group exercise classes at this event for the last few years of participation.
