Matthew Bekemeyer, PT, DPT

Matthew, preferred name Cody, earned his BS degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC in 2019 and his doctorate of physical therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in St. Augustine, FL in 2022. Cody grew up as an active adolescent and went on to swim at the collegiate level. Cody was well decorated achieving All-American 2x, participating at Olympic trials in 2016 and World Championship trials in 2017. Cody is a nature leader at heart and developed a passion for helping people to improve their quality of life and achieve their individual goals. Cody had a neuro clinical at NeuroFit 360 in Pembroke Pines, FL, which is where his love and passion for the neuro population began. Additionally, his great grandfather was dx with Parkinson"s Disease later in his life, but he showed signs of slowing down, indicating the importance of continued exercise and hard work. Cody"s significant other, also has family history with her grandparents being diagnosed with Parkinson"s disease. All in all, people with Parkinson"s disease have a place in my heart and I am truly grateful to be able to work with them and see them truly improve in function, despite the disease being degenerative in nature. I decided to become a certified PWR!Moves physical therapist to improve my interventions I prescribe my patients to improve functional outcomes through evidence-based practice.

Cody enjoys going to the beach, swimming and playing tennis, hanging out with his friends and his girlfriend, thrifting shopping, and trying out new restaurants because he LOVES food.
