Rachel Thomson, PT, DPT

Rachel graduated from California State University Long Beach (CSULB) with her Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology Exercise Science in December 2016 and with her Doctor of Physical Therapy in May 2020 and immediately began pursuing a career in Hand Therapy. She has been observing as a student and an intern at South County Orthopedic Specialists since April 2019, and began practicing at SCOS immediately after graduation. She also practices in their Physical Therapy Department, where she will see balance and gait patients in addition to orthopedic cases. She has continued her Neuro Physical Therapy Education through Neurocollaborative since April 2020, and has been a PWR! Moves Certified Therapist since December 2019.

Rachel is currently working towards her Certified Hand Therapist Certification, and she begins teaching for the CSULB Physical Therapy Department in Spring 2023. She has served as the Graduate Assistant for the CSULB DPT Anatomy coursework and already has experience as a secondary Clinical Instructor for DPT students. Rachel is also an active member of the Hand Therapy Society of Greater Orange County, and she serves as the Secretary. When Rachel isn’t working, you can find her on a long run or bike ride, giving speeches with Toastmasters International, eating ice cream, watching Academy Award winning Best Pictures, and spending time with her twin sister.
